I have been receiving Err-1 and Err-2 on my 2006 Attak and have not been able to determine what is the problem. The speedo quits working and the engine and temp light come on but otherwise the sled runs normal. I was not able to pull the codes at all using the diag procedure with the ERR1 and Err2 codes showing. I have taken a few short rides and as I stated it runs fine, just a christmas tree of lights on the gauge pod. I have given it a quick inspection and there are no apparent chaffed wire harnesses. Where do I go from here?

Both codes point to either the ECU or gauge cluster.
Some here have had strange electrical issues stemming from bad ground blocks on the sled.

You may also want to check the driveshaft bearing and speedo gear below the secondary. If the bearing is pooched the speedo will be erratic or just quit working.
First set of pics in this post show the bearing and speedo gear.

Thanks for the input. The speedo gear and sensor are fine. I am guessing the gauge cluster maybe with the moisture issue. I noticed that gasket was off behind it.

That's exactly what mine did last year. It was the cluster. I was lucky to find a nice used cluster and the miles were only 100 different.

thank you for your feedback i have the day to spend going through the wire trail between ecu and instruments hope i find it soon 12 inches of new powder overnight and my other sled is the venture gt

Anyone know of a way to determine if it is the cluster or the ECU?
