So I have the whole sled apart, new exhaust Y pipe going in, halfbaked beef up kit going in, and now my mind is thinking about this excell exhaust! So I have some questions for you guys...

1. Its $799.99, that's a big nut, is it worth it overall?

2. I ride mostly trails, some boondockin, and an lake crossing here and there (I hate riding on lakes so ususally just gas the hell out of it to get across quickly). Is it good for the type of riding I do?

3. Do you notice the claimed 13lbs weight savings?

4. I know its pretty loud at WOT, but what about cruising around 40- 70 MPH, is it much louder than stock?

5. I respect the trails and the rules in Quebec and the last thing I want is a run-in with the law, will this set up get me a ticket due to noise?

Thanks everyone for the feedback

no, if ur cruising and driving normal, u should b fine. but if there is that time when u go to give it a shot, the cops will know ur comin lol. and it is expensive for just a pipe!! but they r a great looking pipe.

I took mine off after 3 rides and sold it. Every time I ran the sled, people would "get wood" just hearing it. It did sound good, but riding it on 200 mile days was tiring for me. It's a well built product, but pricey.

thanks schmeg, we do anywhere between 200 - 260 miles a day, some 300 mile tours if neccessary, so I think I will stick with the stock exhaust

I'm happier without it for sure. It's a nice pipe and well built, sounds dynamite, but my 49 year old ears can't do it anymore.

I have one on my attak, has been there since almost new. I like the sound of it, it is louder than stock, but sounds really good. You do lose the drone that some people have complained about with the stock exhaust. It sounds just like a sport bike. At idle and lower rpms, it has a mellow note, but under WOT it has a throaty sport bike like sound.... go to excells website, i think they have clips with apexes with the exhaust on them

When i was looking to buy a RTX he had an excell exhaust on and he had the old exhaust on the ground.. Weighing the stock exhaust there is nooooo way that drops 13lbs.. if thats the reason you want to buy it, save your 800 bucks theres no way its worth it.

excell exhaust

Intall a used one on Apex. Love the sound. Police have not botheredme yet. Ride bracebridge, Huntsville all the time. Peolpe pull you over all the time asking who's exhaustb it is because they love the sound. Whish I could carry a few kits on the trail with me, could ell them no problem. I dont know about the gut in comment above but yes weight reductioin is huge.
