My question to you guys, what header is better for power?
I am running an excell header right now with an mpi slip on
I have been bouncing the idea around of putting on a Hindle header and my mpi pipe. I know that Hindle and excell both post good hp numbers with full systems but which one is a better header and why please? I just need to justify the extra money on the Hindle header..... Hard to do when I already have the excell
Thanks guys

Keep the excell and spend the money on clutching or K&N's or something you dont have. If you already have an aftermarket header then there will be very little bang for your buck with a similar type product upgrade.

No worn donuts or flex pipes to deal with, with the Hindle. I would sell the Excell and get the Hindle just for that reason, but that's just me.

Hmmm this is the fine tuning part now I have every after market part that I can find , the header was the last thing that I was Leary about

don't forget the small fact that the header is only part of the overall exhaust system. You can actually hurt performance by mix and matching coponents from different manufactures. You wont get the performance numbers listed on Hindle site unless you run their whole system as well as with excell.

Not a big fan if getting rid of the flex pipes on an engine that is known to have harmonic issues becasue of having 3 cylinders vs a more balanced 4. flex pipes do just that flex absorbing vibrations between two sepreately solid mounted object such as an engine and an exhaust system. just my opinion though

I work on a lot of industrial heavy duty engines. Engines with 3, 5, 7 cylinders are naturaly ballanced. Fours and sixes always have a harmonic balancer of some sort. It may be internal weights that often turn twice crankshaft speed or rubber in the front crank pulley. The nytro 3 banger may be smoother than you think.

I completely agree with the bolded statement...you should purchase the full system from each manufacturer...and on a side note, your MPI slipon will not likely work with the Hindle header as the midpipe will be different...therefore you would be into some custome fab work.

The second statement I disagree with. The Hindle still has some flex to it...probably as much as the factory system ( which doesn't flex as much as you think ). I've put over 2200 problem free miles on the original prototype Hindle system....they now make them stronger.

Thats not worth the extra money at all... Unless it was defective and had to replace it, then that is just blowing money out window. They both make the same power. Each has there little nich, but not worth changing IMO. Keep the Excell header and put the money towards a set of K&N's and PCV with auto tune.

The mpi slip on works with any exhaust that comes out in the stock location, the reason for the mpi slip on it beacuse it is the lightest one that i could find and looks rally good ceramic coated,it also has a bung welded ito it for an o2 sensor, maybe another header is not the way to go, maybe i should sink it into a diamond s front clip? cut some weight up front....
