02-579…..No Slip 2.52” Pitch Drive Sprocket, 9T, 1 1/16”-1 1/8” Hex
$94.95 Looks to me like a 2006 has a 30 mm hex shaft which is closer to 1 1/16" the Newer models use 1 1/4"

02-574......No Slip 2.52” Pitch Drive Sprocket, 9T, 1 1/8”-30mm Hex (2009 Yamaha Apex, Vecture, Venture 121" & 136") $94.95

I plan to go to fully Clipped does anyone know what is the best tool to cut the windows out of the track ?

most guys use a carpet knife to cut open the closed windows when clipping a track. last one i did i use a hole saw as i was not planning on clipping the track.

I was just thinking about the wood craft kit I had as a kid.. because I was going to make a joke about using a hot knife.. Yet a Hot knife would reduce bare threads and unraveling..
I have seen heavy duty carpet Scissors.. I need to google carpet knife.. I know a Box Cutter would not hold up .. You can never have too many tools ..

I can see that there are many variables to carpet knives. but I get the idea of the shape.. The cheap ones look like they use razor blades..

Ski-Doo Mach Z drivers work great. Good price. Need a press to do the switch.
Some one posted a Skidoo Part # can't get any specs or dimensions.. 2006 Yamaha Apex Attack was a 30 mm Hex shaft witch is around 1 1/16" in 2009 Yamaha went to a larger shaft that is closer to 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" I can't even find that out .. Just part # and photos .. Wahl makes two different part #'s the difference being the diameter of the hex and the pitch. 2.52 or 2.86 ect

I read somewhere that using a sharp chisel and hammer works good for cutting the windows out. Back the track with a oak 4x4.

If you are going fully clipped, all windows would be open....?

Yes if you have say a 9 tooth Sprocket all windows have to be open.. It seems I saw a Sprocket that has an external tooth in every other position.. That would not even work on odd or even sprockets.. I must be wrong.. I just can't remember..
Some times say Yamaha uses an external drive with all windows open but still only 1 clip per third window.. More Clips = more steel on hyfax less friction cooler hyfax.. Some clips even have grooves in them to hold snow for when there is not enough snow to lubricate well ..
