Extremely frustrating LTX clutching issue

about 2200 or so. Its been like that, even after cleaning since about 300 miles, after the first trip I took.

That looks like an extreme version of what mine did. If you look you will find that the spider "shoes" likely have metal embedded in them and they are galling/scoring the pockets quite severely.

here is a thread that I posted about the issue a while back: http://ty4stroke.com/threads/viper-clutch-spider-pockets.136491/

I haven't revisited the coating recently, but it did definitely scrape/burnish a lot. Things seem better though overall.

See, thats whats erking me.

I feel like some of us got bad clutches from crappy castings. I want this to be covered by YES. I have had engagement issues since the first ride. I guess we will wait and see what they have to say after they split it, but they wrote it up as a regular service ($ out of my pocket)

Your primary bushing is to tight, sand it out with some 400 grit sand paper. When the clutch gets hot it gets even tighter and sticks. Been there done that. PTFE dry lube after sanding....fixed.

If the dealer even thinks about charging you be polite and tell thrm it's been an issue since you bought the sled. Bad tolerance on the clutch bushing from the factory. Period.

That clutch needs to be checked over, new bushings and sliders. Something is not right there.

Complete genius! Yes it does!

This can also can happen if the spring cover marks aren't aligned with the marks on the sheave.

It is possible to put new bushings in and have it do the same thing if the press fit is too tight. It's not the spring loaded slider shoes causing the problem.

Dealer just called me, the clutch is ready for pickup. They are going to do it under warranty. I didnt even ask for it, they just did it that way! Super happy and looking forward to my clutch actually working as its supposed to, and getting this Big Venom kit in.
