Thanks Marc for your advice and help and Hurricane for top notch service.

I have been looking at going to stm, for the price of a tapp, I am pretty close to having a new stm primary and secondary. What was all involved in changing them? Just bolt them on? Did you have to get anything machined for alignment? What belt are you now running? I am just looking for those hidden costs, for example, looks like it doesn't come with a helix.

Hahaha Pan you definitely don't need my advice and help. Together we alway get #*$&@ figured out !!
Absolutely love what you did with your rtx!! Take it easy on me this season.. lol

Question on this. I thought the STM primary had wear issues with these 998 engines?

You can buy them pre calibrated bolt on from hurricane.
!! Just need to align.

I understand the need for alignment, but so far have never had belt blowing issues for over 3000km (so I haven't messed with it lol). So would I also need the hurricane alignment bar, and then some shims to offset the current alignment?

*edit* sorry, looks like the hurricane one has an adjuster built into it, that was not clear when looking at the TD website.

just put it to stm alignment specs in the instruction. No bar needed! use the yamaha shims for offset.. stm might even send some not sure?

From the STM website.
No warranty on Nitro 1000 or Ski-Doo Triple motors as we do not recommend running these clutches on them.
Something to think about if problem do arise in the future

Though I heard or read somewhere stm had redesigned their primary to correct the problem w triple motors???
