Well, finally got enough snow to take my new (to me) RX1 for a real spin on the lakes instead of short bursts up and down the ditch. I am very happy with my purchase. I love this thing. It hauls a$$. I just did the apex seat mod and love the new riding position. I have read posts about installing the apex rad, and I now wonder if I should do it or just wait for more snow and then make my decission, because the temperature light came on today as I was trail riding the 6 km from the lake. Once I hit some deeper snow the light went out within 15 seconds. The lake has about 4" of snow and that isn't a problem, but the packed snow on the trails seems to be. Is this usualy a big problem with the rx1. I have never come across this problem before with my polaris sleds and the heat exchangers are bacialy in the same place as the rx1. Even when there gets to be more snow will this happen alot?

will not happen alot unless you are on hardpack, run over some fluff it will go off. no need for any additional cooling

Good, thanks
I would try some scratchers first, keeps the sliders lubed anyway on the hardpack.

Would the scratchers kick up enough snow to help cool the engine?
