Finally got out for a couple of days riding at new years with my 153" track. My phazer is like a different sled. I was disapointed with my new/used sled last season whenever I went off trail, which is most of the time or when a trail was chewed up deep powder. The stock 144 trenched itself into a hole in fresh deep snow and was exhausting to ride when other sleds had gone first, tipping and getting stuck. I know my riding buddies weren't impressed with Phazers and I was looking at 600 Polaris and Ski-doos. Thanks to Barrett's Yamaha, I got a 153, extroverts and extensions. The information here made me set back and drop the skid instead of using the extensions and I used a set of small bogie wheels and brackets for anti-stab at the front of the skid after taking off the rubber noses and rounding the sharp aluminum front. The results are impressive. This is the sled I expected when i bought a Phazer. Right off I noticed the sled started moving easier and felt more stable on the trail. towing my skimmer with fuel, food and gear felt easier and could even break trail in 2-3 ft of fresh snow with it behind me. I expected to need to gear down with the bigger track, but so far it works well with stock Mtn gears. Once into the cabin and dropping the skimmer, we went out for a couple of hours riding unbroken logging roads, meadows and lakes with lots of bottomless powder. i did manage to get stuck due to bad riding, but had a huge smile throughout as I could go into the deep without fear of getting stuck constantly. Crossing or following other sled tracks no longer caused unstable results. Riding is fun again. I couldn't try sidehilling or any big hillclimbing as up in the alpine the snowpack isn't good enough yet. too many rocks and stumps. Looking forward to getting to know this new and improved ride.

Just, glad to hear it worked for you!
Can,I can send you the template to make your brackets, I also have a template made for the plate in the front of the tunnel. My bolt hit dead center on the edge of the steel plate on the inside of the tunnel. The front plate has to be welded in.
Measure the resting heigth at the grab bar. It should be 26.5 inches. When you kare your tunnel you will want the machine setting at that height for marking where you hole will be for the front axle of the suspension.
If you want PM me and we can exchange numbers and I can talk you through it.

Is there a write up with pictures on setting the skid back?
