Ok fella's, I may be ready to take the SW plunge and have a shot at a 2017 RTX. I'm interested in your opinions of the sled overall. But more specifically the suspension. How does it stack up to other versions of the Winder rear skids. And other brands skids as well.
I'm not ready to go with a 137 or longer track yet, which is why I'm interested in this version.

I love mine and will tell you it definitely transfers weight better than the 137. Don’t even think twice about it, the 129s Rock.

@ROCKERDAN had a 129 and had a setup that made it work well so he says. You'd have to find his threads on the subject.

Be sure to check the front arm top shaft, or just replace it. There were reports of some breaking.

I rode both today. 137 is more stable at speed and more glued to the trail. Fun factor is higher on the 129. It is more playful and it transfers better.

the 129 is the way to go with these sleds. I would be buying new if they still made a 129, but I am looking for a low mile one to replace my 17 RTX now.

I love my Rtx le. With the shock package easy settings and the easy transfer and ski lift at will I love my sled. Would like a xtx for out west but most of my riding is Midwest. Love the short track.

I have an 18’ Rtx Le and a 20’ XTX LE and it is the 18’s turn to be replaced and I don’t know if I can. My wife is the main rider of it now and she wants nothing different. It does ride and handle really well. I put the 6.9 pilots on the front after reading Dans build thread. I’ve been really happy with it. If I get to the open trails of the up I do like my 146” but in the northern Wisconsin woods the rtx is awesome. You won’t regret it.

drill new holes and move the transfer stopper rod , without the blocks, back about 3/4 " , and it transfers more on the 137.

Ok transfer is good. But I probably should have been more specific with my question. What I really want to know is how well it handles the bumps. The main reason I'm ready to get off my Apex is cuz it just doesn't handle the bumps very well. I want to know that it's a significant improvement over the Apex.

50th rtx le here with custom dsc hi/lo compression on all 4. Amazing sled. Can take whatever I throw at it. Old style Pilot r deeper rocker keel skis. Zero darting with 7.5" shapers. Nothing out there I really want till I see some real world reports on the pricey mach.

My family has all owned apexs', and they all still own them. However the switch to the sidewinder has been a huge game changer for everybody. You can ride longer and faster with less fatigue and discomfort. Everybody that has gone from an apex to a sidewinder chassis first believes that the apex is just as good, and then jump on the apex and can't get back to the sidewinder fast enough. I have seen this with absolutely everybody making the change. Personally my knees can't take the apex sitting position anymore. Nothing against the apex, it is probably the best bang for your buck backup sled you could ask for. That's my opinion anyways.
