For those that have the Ohlins up front on your 40th anniversary wondering how you like them, are they good out of the box, do they need a revalve and what for? Also list your riding style if your a crusier or like to pound the wee out of it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I love my Ohlins.... front factory valving works for me, 200lbs fully dressed, and i ride hard and agressive.... so far 7300 trouble free miles. I love comming in fast to corners, touch break, them WOT out.... when trails get choppy I go faster... shocks so far have taken everything i throw at them. Now i'm not doing any major cliff jumps, so can't comment on that.

Tried having mine shimmed by Pioneer to help level the A arms last year. Hated it. It never really lowered the arms the way I was hoping, and made it ride way too stiff. Went back to stock this year. Stock is pretty damn good for most trail riding IMO.

Hi Kinger!
We have one guy in our group with a 2007 Attak with the stock clicker shocks up front like the set you had up for sale. An other guy has a 40th ann. Apex with the Ohlins on the front. There is a huge difference in the ride quality. The Ohlins are hands down far smoother. I personally would choose them over anything including fox floats.
I have a set of Ohlins on the front of my SRX and they are just as good as the longer travel ones.
Just my .02 worth.

Yup Ohlins are the way to go. Best ride Ive been on, but takes alot of testing to get them where you like them for your riding style and easy/quick to adjust.

Yeah, there is a reason why both 40th anniversary Apexes I sold this Spring and summer had base model ER shocks on them. The Ohlin's are priceless to me and were taken off and now are installed on our two 2011 Apexes. I like to be able to control roll with the rebound and the dampening for chatter feel. They are amazing and smooth.

Are the GYTR shocks similar or are the Ohlin's in a league of their own?
I am really hoping the GYTR's work well for me, they seem to have lots of adjustment so I assume I will just have to tinker to find my sweet spot?

You should be really happy with GYTR adjustables shocks. You can change the dampening and the rebound with adjuster nobs. The Ohlin's will run out longer with out fade and just have a slightly more absorbant feel to them.
