Has anyone ever replaced a front bulkhead? I noticed my left ski on my 03 shorty seemd to be angling in at the top today while I was riding and discovered the tab on the bulkhead that holds the lower arm in front was broken. Don't know how it happened, and do not know if YES will cover it. If not I will have to replace it. Checked on line at Ronnies and it is $274. That's not too bad, but I am wondering how difficult it is to replace. :(

I just had the left side of mine replaced at the dealers. Very time consuming. I am not exactly the charge because they did so many things, but I think it was about 6 hours minimum. If you need more information than that, I will call them and ask.

Thanks Boston. I was afraid it might take awhile. It looks like alot of rivets and bolts to remove and replace. Hopefully YES will cover it, but I am afraid they will say it is from abusing it. But, it wasn't. I have no idea how it happened. I will know on Monday.

I went slowly over a r. ock, dead center. It pushed up into the recess under the motor and draggeded back the heat exchanger and bent the bulklead crossmember. Dealer did an estimate, the bulkhead is avaliable only as an asssembly, $960. He put in 36hrs. Waiting on insurance??

Well, my dealer is coming to pick it up tomorrow. He said YES would almost certainly cover it, unless there was some obvious mark or something on it where you could tell it hit a rock or something like that. We will see. Probably won't have it by the weekend unless I get lucky getting the part. :o| I think I should buy a new Apex and keep the RX for a spare when this kind of thing happens. What a spare to have!! LaLaLa

Slid over a rock, cracked both halfs, took out the heat exchanger even with a skid plate. 900+ for box including exchanger. 850+ labor. New skid plate. 100+ for rivets. PK
