I know Max Performance is out of business, but looking for a complete front end bushing kit for a 2003 Yamaha RX-1. Where should I call?

Steve

The pioneer kit does not include the 8 bushing that go into the bulkhead.. You have do get those from the dealer..

the pioneer kit also does not include the spindle/housing bushings

Have you used the pio kit Brian? sound like it is well made with superior material and should last longer

I put the set in my brothers Rx-warrior this summer..

It doesnt look and better than the stock stuff ! But who knows..

I greased the hell out of them too..

Bruce has said he will be doing bulkhead bushings for next year. I installed grease fittings on my spindles and a arms and am keeping it greased. I am hoping to make it till next year for the bushing replacement.

Have a RX-1 2003 with 8000 km. If I left the snowmobile, can put the skis at least 1/4 of an inch. I am thinking to make new bushings by myself with the lathe. Can make them from brass with a grease fittings or make them from teflon. What will be the best?
Thanks,

Greg

Brass bushings would be awsome..

If you make some let me know.. I would be interested in some..

Cats come factory with them.

To do it well you need to replace them all on the front.
If I am right, you need 10 bushings for each side.
Brass isn't cheap, and it takes time to make them.
If the price is double from the plastic bushings, most people find them too expensive.
What is the price, you think is reasonable?
Thanks,

Greg

It doesnt matter really what you make them out of once you have a way of greasing them they will last a long time.

I made mine out of delrin.I used yfz450 a arm bushing and turned them the correct sizes to fit the rx1 arms.As well as put zerks in,holding up great now.

I just installed a wide front end kit from Pioneer. My bushings were all fine at 4500 miles. I cleaned them and coated them with low temp grease, every part. No problems.

Indy, did you check the bushings in the bulkhead. As bad as mine are at 1600 mi, I find it hard to believe yours are good at 4500. I greased mine twice and have a pioneer wide kit as well.
