front shock

I have an 06 apex er,I cannot get the locking collar loose to adjust the spring on the front shocks.I'm afraid I'll break the shock body where it mounts if I try any harder. Any tips?

Try some WD-40 or add some heat.

Tap it with a punch and hammer.
