I'm heading out on a 10 day journey in Quebec. I have done all of the usual preventive updates on my sled. Roll over valve, heat exchanger hose guards, weld roller bolts, new gear bushing, drive shaft wedge, primary and secondary rollers. But not the front slide bar shaft. I have seen a bunch of failures on Facebook lately. Is this really a problem I need to deal with? Only have 7 days till I leave and would have to source a solution quick. What are you guys thoughts on this shaft?

If you ride very aggressive in rough trails, it could be a issue. I personally like and did install BOP UPGRADE for peace of mind. But I do not pound the sh)& out of my sleds when it’s rough.

Well I'm in my sixtys. So my pounding days are over. I'm going on a 10 day saddle bag tour on the super highways of Quebec. So I'm hoping too go on this tour and deal with it when I get back. As l live in Ontario it does not give me enough time to order the BOP shaft before I go.

You will be just fine. I put a update in mine and it was NOT bent or a issue. Have a safe FUN ride. That’s why we do this stuff because it’s fun!Well I'm in my sixtys. So my pounding days are over. If you don't go looking for trouble you will be fine. Friend had one go on whooped out trails, and he continued to drive the sled like an idiot. Cross shaft failed, snapped, and tore through the side of the tunnel.
If you are PQ, I wouldn't sweat it. the shocks barely do any work there, the trails are so smooth. lol.
However, for piece of mind in the off season the BOP upgrade to the shaft and tunnel reinforcements are a good idea. All it takes is one bang, and the shaft will start to distort. Just my 10 cents
