I was looking to buy a 1.5 Crossover track and I can't seem to find a post that flat out says that you do/do not have to cut the front protectors out with an 1.5 track. I was under the impression that 1.5 was the biggest you could go with 9t drivers. I know the Cobra will fit without any mod. to the protectors and that you have to cut the protectors out when running a BackCountry. Any info on the 1.5 Crossover track fitting would be great.
Thanks
Andrew

I am in the middle of a 144" x 1.5" Crossover track install....... I researched AND measured more times than I can count...... anyway, I have learned the following:
With the stock non extrovert drivers it barely fits..... in fact it just scrubs the protectors...... however, I replaced the stock drivers wiht Wahl 9" (Stock Size) Extroverts and it turns out, they are about 1/4" larger in diameter...... soooo, the new track does not clear.
I have cut out all but the bottom tack wled of the stock protectors and fabricated repalcements out of old HyFax...... they are rivited in place to the top tunnel protrectors and the botttom mentioned tabs.
I now have clearance for thew 1.5" track and 1.5" studs.....[/i]

Thanks for the info "TheGreatPumpkin." Looks like I'm gonna have to cut the protectors. I hope I don't cut to far into the heat-exchanger, it is too close to the season to be dealing with that mess.
