Will it hurt anything in a 07 Apex RTX injection system to run some racing fuel in it? On the clutching is there any gain to be had by shimming the helix out with 5/16 lock washers or having it machined?

Race fuel in your sled will make it harder to start & run like crap & make it slower.
Machining the inside collar of the stock helix might give you 1-2 mph on perfect conditions.

Turk,
I understand about the starting and running of the sled with racing fuel. I was thinking about running some through it just to clean the system up and store it for the year. I always store mowers, trimmers, blowers,etc... with race fuel and they come out ready to run the next season. Storing with gas or gas w/stabil always results in sh--ty carbs and or injectors when they come out of storage in this part of the world.

I store all my stuff(sleds/boat/mowers) with premium. It has zero ethanol in my area.

Consider yourself fortunate! We can NOT get unblended fuel here.

Exactly...We can't get it here in the Northeast either. I have done some testing with the race fuel and did not see any power difference. However my Nytro started just fine. I run 80/20 (regular/race) to maintain a clean fuel blend. Works for me.
