Gap Flasher Issues

When you’re downloading the firmware are you getting the prompt to connect your device and going through that step?

Ya after the firmware is complete I get the message to go and connect to my phone. When the flasher is plugged into the compute the light flashes but when it’s plugged into the sled it doesn’t but I’m pretty sure the tune eliminated that for battery drain.
This is the message I get once file is uploaded.

When you get that message does you phone connect to the flasher while the flasher is still live from the computer?

Ya I tried going into the app and connecting then and it takes me to the scanning page shows the device, says connecting and then turned red and said some kind of message about cannot connect to device and then disconnects. So the app sees the device when it’s connected to my computer but wont connect, not sure if it should or not when it’s connected to the computer but then the flasher is connected to my sled the app doesn’t even see it at all.

I think phone app and flasher tool will connect when the flasher has power from computer.
Did you add flash to pass button or other wiring that would affect the flasher harness?

I just updated my firmware last night. When I got to that point I connected my IPad and it downloaded some files and said complete. Then I clicked next (or whatever) on the computer side and finished.

If the flasher does not light when connected to the sled and the key is on you have a connector problem.

No I haven’t added anything yet, last year I was runnning the jukebox bundle of tunes and I had purchased the dash flash and the sled show. I talked to Ryan from hurricane Friday afternoon and he told me to book my flasher up to the computer and update the firmware on the flasher. Told me to also update the gap flasher on my iPhone. Did all that. Then he said once I got my hood on my sled to connect to the flasher and then send an email to them with my ecu info so they can get me hooked up with the dash flash.
But I have had no luck connecting to the flasher when on my sled. Talked to Dave for a couple minutes Saturday evening about the issue. Will have to call him tomorrow afternoon, to go through some more troubleshooting. Maybe my flasher is no good.

Ya no lights on the flasher when connected to sled. Might have to meter plug and see if I have power there. I thought maybe they programmed the flasher so it didn’t have any light flashing when connected to the sled so it didn’t drain the battery. Or is this only when the key is not turned on?? Thanks

Just went to garage and checked. When my flasher is plugged in when I turn the key to on I get a burst of green flashes, then a steady single blue flash about every second. Key off no flashes.

Sounds like you have a power issue at the harness adapter.

Key on, need key on to connect also

You could check power by connecting to your computer flasher Updater software without actually doing any updating. Then while it is plugged in to the computer see if you can connect your phone app to the flasher tool.

I may as add to the list here everything works mint. Only problem I have is that my rpm is at 9285 it will not reset like supposed to on ignition cycle. Also 2 other sled with bundles and dash flash done at same time threw Hurricane same issue.

Thanks Pan

So when I plug it into the computer but don’t open the software and try to connect my phone it connects to the flasher no problem. It went through all this updating of files and registered my phone to the flasher. But as soon as I plug into sled I get no flashing of lights and cannot connect. So it has to either be an issue with the connection at the sled maybe.
