Garage mat under sled?

i lift mine up at the track and put it on a small stool, then slide a long plastic taboggan under the skid, catches about 80%of the water, then squeege the rest out the door.

Best idea yet. I had a long red plastic toboggan what would be perfect - threw it out last year when it cracked. I will keep my eye out for one.

Storage Bin Lid

An upside down lid from the large Rubbermaid storage bins would work. Just put 2 underneath the track and it would catch all the drippings.

I think you guys are making this to difficult. place sled in garage over drain
use a tarp and cardboard make tent over your sled use a turbo heater
20 min clean use rubber hammer get hard stuff

TOMBOB

Keep it simple like TOMBOB , I use old towels and then a box fan

My heat is set to 55
Put my sled over drain and go in the house.

Why can't you put a drain in ?

They wouldnt let me do one either when i did my garage, think it has something to do with contaminates getting into the soil or something like that.

I'm guessing it is more like the floor drain hooked to the sewer system is a danger. I know of a few places that blew up because of people dumping volitiles down the drain and the fumes entering someone elses building.

I have no floor drain and all I do is knock off the ice and snow if any! Then I just put a large blower fan behind the sled and evaporate the water away as the ice melts. I think people are on the right track with tote lids they would make perfect catch pans.

But any water that is on the floor will evaporate easily with a large fan or blower. Mine is a furnace blower. I also have a dehumidifier that I can use if the humidity gets to high but with the wood heat the dehumidifier is only used in the summer.

just leave it outside with the ice and snow still on it it just going to get back on it again next time you ride. then again some of us dont havethe big beautiful heated garage. mine is only heated when i fire up the wood stove. and i use the push broom to push out the water when im done working on it. other wise it has all the snow and ice on it from the whole season. but then again i ride right from yard almost every night so when i come home i just throw the cover on her and call it a night. i know what and why you are asking just had to chime in.

wouldnt even let me put a drain into the ground, i assume for the same reason you stated..people that dump oil and such down the drain. I was going to dig a deep hole and put gravel into it and use that, but they said no!

Where do you live ??

An easy option for me- like thor452 - would be to leave the sled outside. I too ride right from my house but I prefer keeping the sled locked safely in the garage when not in use.

Keep it locked up and out of sight around here. I leave my sled on my single trailer in the garage and have a hole drilled in my salt shield with a 5 gal. pail underneath. It also is a good height for working on sled.

I leave the sled in the trailer till next weekend ...lower trailer door jump on seat a few times ...start and go
Don't forget every time you heat up the sled you will get some condensation into the gas. Cold to hot
Just my two cents :sled1:

Yup easy solution. Just drill a small hole at a min in the floor with a concrete drill hit. You can always patch it with hydraulic cement and no one will be the wiser.

1/2" should be enough to dissipate the water.

I assume the slope is wrong and the water puddles in the corner or something like that.
