Has anyone tested the new Gates redline belt?

I ran it this past weekend and found it so far to be more consistent than the stock 8jp. But I only have 500 miles on it so far.

I've got one sitting here, but have yet to break it in or try it out. Have the XS825 working so well now I'm afraid to change anything up.
No more trying to lighten up on the the weights or secondary springs anymore. I was to a point I was trying to be as easy as I could on the primary rollers, but get too light and belts slip and go boom! I'm back to heavier secondary pressures and that just plain works for me vs trying to go light pressures in the secondary.
P.S. Dalton V2 spring are much heavier and stronger than the old V1 spring on the drill press scale now. Just as strong as the Cat springs, like the Cat Sno/Pro Green, Dalton White & Dalton Black/Lime.

...so what helix are you running that's "just right"? I think my 32 STM is more like a 34 Dalton.

Right now I have a Dalton 41-37 in it with the B/O wrapped up at 90. But it changes daily, what I was mainly getting at was I no longer run light secondary spring pressures in the secondary, and the V2 Dalton spring is MUCH stiffer than the old V1 version. I was trying to lighten up on pressures to make life better for the rollers with the XS85 belt as it appeared to grip so well, but I found getting too light on the secondary spring and drive weights the XS belt would also slip like the 8JP would.

Guys you do realize if your clutches are aligned right and all components are in good order that 8jp, 8dn gates, ultimax.... will all work well!! I have seen 100% stock springs and helix just weight upgrade work well on 270 np with 8jp
Don't expect just by changing your belt that problems will go away!!!! If you blow belts there is more then just belt quality..imo

That STM 32 is closer to 39 then 34 in a Dalton. Any chance you have measured it. I know that a STM 38 is a 45 in a Dalton/Yamaha....so what helix are you running that's "just right"? I think my 32 STM is more like a 34 Dalton.

Does it rev similiar rpms to 8JP or is it "stickier" and rev lower like ultimax xs825?I ran it this past weekend and found it so far to be more consistent than the stock 8jp. But I only have 500 miles on it so far.

Thunder Products Clutching has sold well over 100 of these Redline belts and those running it (including us) are having great results with them.
The belt is not as sticky as the XS belt and the Carbon Fiber Gates belt, but they act just like the stock 8JP belt. Same RPM and width.

I was reving about 100rpm higher but was running in much colder weather so the motor was probably just making more power.

Good to know, the sxs guys have given rave reviews on this belt. Supposedly it can take up to 300 degrees of heatThunder Products Clutching has sold well over 100 of these Redline belts and those running it (including us) are having great results with them.

Yes, very true and our dealer in Sweden loves the Redline belts.

The new Redline is 1 mm wider than stock 8JP and that affect clutch offset. Its like a 1 mm washer... With redline belt and removing washer behind secondary its 2 mm shorter offset compared to the old 8JP belt?
No I dont need to machine the secondary stub...

The new redline grips awsome, no slippage! But drops 400 rpm on my stock tune Sidewinder...
Runnig empty heavy hitters 58 base weigths is not enough for me without stiffer primaryspring.

Sounds same as ultimax! But just like Knapp, have sled pretty much dialed in and unless they are priced a lot lower than xs825, not going to mess with clutching all over again. The new redline grips awsome, no slippage! But drops 400 rpm on my stock tune Sidewinder...
