gearing help needed

Thanks guys for ALL your come backs....I decided to go with the 24/38 gearing as afew of you and others (G-Force) think that that is the way to go..I will start with this setup and then go from there..I WILL let you no how i make out..Thanks again for all the great info... :rocks:

the size of drivers also effect gearing .what size of drivers are you using.if you are using 9 tooth drivers i would also go 24/38 .i am running 25/38 with 8 tooth drivers and a 2 inch track .

mbarryracing - I will, or you may have a look in my rxrider's Turbo Garage thread, I will document everything in there. X2 on what you said on overgearing to reduce track spin on takeoff :-)

Roest - 20/40 with 170 HP will be way too low gearing on a trail sled. On a off trail or mountain sled you're right on :-)

MUSKIE - My take is that with 170 HP you will run out of gear running at 22/38 very fast, 23/38 is OK, but you will be better off going with what G-Force says and run stock gearing at 24/38.

Again THANKS guys...I will let you no the results after G-Force install this lower boost S/C .....Thanks for the talk ;)! Greatguys in this section of TY site !!! :rocks:
