My RTX Se comes with 24/50 gears and a 92 link chain. I ordered the 41 T gear from Yamaha but the 86 link chain that I ordered with is too short. The only other option that Yamaha has for chains is a 90 link. Does anyone know if the 90 link will be too long?? They said my stock 92 link is too long with the 24/41 setup.

Is there another place to get gears and chains?

This is new to me so any help would be appreciated

So far I have not heard of anyone with aftermarket gears yet for the viper. The short stock gearing with the turbo makes for an arm puller eh!

Whats your top speed so far?

116 mph gps then it runs out of gear. Could try adding a little weight to the tips but don't think I will gain much.

So I am stuck with what I got until an aftermarket company comes out with something?? Yamaha does have a 22/48 combo available but I think that gear ratio isn't much higher than what I got. Dealer mentioned reverse might not work without the proper length of chain...not sure if that's true

My dealer has it tore apart right now so just trying to get some quick answers

Yes it pulls like crazy. Had some fun with a couple srx's, vmax 4 and a 1200 doo (with some mods)......not even close

Decided to go with the xtx gearing which is 21/41. This will give me a 1.95 ratio vs my 2.08. Not quite as high as I think the turbo will push but its my only option with Yamaha and should put me over the 120 mph mark

I didn't want to go with the xtx gearing because I thought it was lower. Didn't know you had to take into account pitch and the number of sprocket teeth. :o|

Will update after I get to ride again.

Let me know how it goes because I was thinking the same thing and going to the XTX gearing. Ours maxes out at 117 on GPS before it hits the rev limiter.

Just wondering, why you guys want to go faster than 117? I mean I love speed too and I'm happy with 117mph! Granted there might be some sleds out there that have a faster top speed, but I don't think they will get there faster. I'm just wondering. Are you guys just lake racers or what?

Ok I already thought about it and I would like to go faster too. But for the time and money would a few mph be worth it?

Not just a lake racer I do a lot of trail riding. However my friends usually spend a few days out of the season to get the gun out and see what the best mph can be done. Kinda of crazy I guess but we enjoy the fun

Also my apex will do 118 mph stock and kinda sucks I have this much money into this viper and limited to 116. For a few hundred bucks I think around a 7 mph gain is worth it.

I don't think i'll lose to much bottom end just gain more mid and top. We'll see ;)!

I doubt you'll loose much ottom out ltx et's like crazy, kinda hard on ya after 300 km days.
