What are the options non stock gears and chain to the Viper?

I'm running stock gears and chain.
But there might be better options for upper gear in the chaincase?

There is alot of options. Team,Scott Taylor,Ulmer,Evo,Cat and Yamaha. Taylor I believe has a oil hole in attempt to save the bushing. Big $ though.

Thanks! What chain and gears are you running?

I found this about the Sidewinder.

"For the Sidewinder, further upgrades have been made. The top gear material has changed from a powdered metal to forged machine sprockets for additional strength and the chain width is increased to 15 link (plate) from 13 link. "

15 link is overkill from everything I have heard. Important part is that its the Yamaha style Hyvo chain which has thicker and bigger plates than the junk Cat used to use. I am running Gears and Chain from EVO. Got a good deal from them. I would like to someday try drilling a oil hole like Taylor does though. Have really not heard of them wearing the bushing. I will say though that this top gear bushing in the Evo gear has lasted longer than any of my previous stock gears. Maybe because its a bigger diameter gear? Either way the bushing is same as stock and replaceable.

There are many options available and the stock setup in the XTX leave a bit to be desired as far as I am concerned and once you add hp it is really limiting the sleds performance. The stock gear quality is suspect but I have been running them for 3 yrs with lots of boost and no failures. I have at least 4000 miles on the set from the 14 XTX run te whole time at over 230 hp and no problems. the 15 now has ulmers $$$ gears ad chain with 26/44 gears and it is fantastic pulls like a freight train at the bottom and flat out hauls the mail to 124 mph on the top end. with some aero changes I am hoping for 126 on the 15 this yr. The chart from Ulmer states 134 mph in this set up but no way. At 10.5 lbs of boost 265 hp with overdrive at 9100 rpms 124 was the best on hard packed rail bed. maybe 2 to 3 more on ice.

Like I said if I was a off trail rider I would not go this high. But absolutely no issues for how I ride.

Scott Taylor! Seems to be good quality but expensive!

Whats the distance to achieve 124?

Ouch! Odd he doesnt have bigger gear. I believe my 25-45 is 1:8 and if using Taylor would need 21-38 for same ratio. I think a bigger gear is easier on everything. May not be as quick though since more Mass.

I agree, i also like the idea of a larger top gear, but That 25 tooth top gear is tough to find.
Ulmer quoted me around 200 just for the top gear.
Taylor never replied to my messages
Evo did not reply to my email , no real surprise there. They build good stuff but service is nonexistent.

I see a link to tomcat performance in here.
For someone that is running a buisness, That guy can be a bit of an opinionated jerkoff on HCS. I think id throw my money in a sewer before spending it with him.
Just my opinion
