Only reason I was interested in Tomcat is he is the only one trying to address the bushing wear in top gear. I have a set of Carbide drills will try that mod myself next spring. RTX have you tried Team Industries? I believe they are the biggest gear maker.I agree, i also like the idea of a larger top gear, but That 25 tooth top gear is tough to find.
Ulmer quoted me around 200 just for the top gear.
Taylor never replied to my messages
Evo did not reply to my email , no real surprise there. They build good stuff but service is nonexistent.
I see a link to tomcat performance in here.
For someone that is running a buisness, That guy can be a bit of an opinionated jerkoff on HCS. I think id throw my money in a sewer before spending it with him.
Just my opinion

How is the quality of stock gears on the Cat 1100 turbo? Fit Cat gears the Viper chain?
I was still in break in last season so I did not run it in high boost at the drags but at 7.5 lbs I was at 114 ish in 1320 ft so hoping at 10 where it is clutched for it can see 120 in 1320 I am over 100 in 660Whats the distance to achieve 124?

16 for sure fits Viper chain and is as good quality. Before that I am not sure. Definitly 12,13 Do Not Fit.How is the quality of stock gears on the Cat 1100 turbo? Fit Cat gears the Viper chain?

I hear you. Limited options force your hand on who and where you buy from.
I contacted a ton of different buisnesses looking for a 25 tooth top gear.
Ulmer and erlandson was the only one that replied.
No i did not contact team directly, but i did talk on the phone with erlandson/epi.
Maybe i am wrong, but I thought they sold team gears and chain. Anyways they said they did not have a 25 tooth top gear available at that time.
I went a different route and kept the 24 top gear and dropped 2 teeth on the bottom gear.
I got a steal on new bottom gear and a new chain so i figured why not give it a try.

So,after posting i decided to do another search for a 25 tooth top gear and low and behold i stumbled across venom products
They carry 21 through 28 tooth top gears. The part numbers they list cross back to team industries
They get $225 each for them, but i figured i would post up the option in case anyone wants a bigger top gear

I will say though that this top gear bushing in the Evo gear has lasted longer than any of my previous stock gears. Maybe because its a bigger diameter gear? Either way the bushing is same as stock and replaceable.
I have never thought of gear diameter before! May well be something in it? Thanks!
