Just bought an 05 Grizz, didn't have any trouble with the stock tires until recently. I don't do any deep mud riding, but do often end up climbing over big rocks and logs where I ride. The stock tires seemed to be fine for everything but that as it didn't take long for me to puncture the sidewall on one and have the sharp end of a broken branch punch a hole in another within a week. Thankfully, it wasn't too far from my camp, but I do plan to take longer trips in the future. Do they make tires that would be more puncture resistant than the stock ones? Maybe more plys or thicker sidewalls? Not too familiar with this stuff as this is my first quad. Thanks.

Stock tires are notoriously "thin in the skin" when it comes to side wall construction. I would definitely look into a more beefy after market tire. I'm certain you will have much better results than the stockers. I've seen 6-ply mud tires that can get you home no problem with zero air pressure in them. The sidewalls are so stiff, they support the vehicle weight without even bulging.

Same issue with my grizz. Just got Highlifter M/S/T tires. Love them! Great on the rocks. I also don't do much mud riding but never wanted to be afraid of it either. If I never did mud I would have choosen the Maxis Bighorn Radials.
