Great potential add for APEX

Pretty much nothing infuriates a 4 stroke owner than the "weight" argument ad nausem. Especially when it comes from some fat arse that's close to topping 300 lb's at a stop. "Them yamaha's are way to heavy!"

My wife has no problem riding our 04 and she's 125 sopping wet. If she feels no difference then there is no difference. She's one of the few women I've seen that rides standing up too (has 2 inch risers).

It's like on Doo talk. I got em fired up for 6 whole pages. Called the Summit a "Sherman Tank" because wet it weighs 677 lb's. And by their own posts in other threads no sled over 600 lb's can handle what the light sleds can. They really didn't have an answer for it.

I for one am looking forward to Mainegearheads comparison of his RTX vs. his Rev800. Please let us know when the time comes.

I can certainly give my opinion next year because I plan to keep the REV when I pick up my Apex. Hopefully the snow won't be an issue and I will get plenty of riding on both. You won't get any extreme riding report from me, but a trail report on both sleds from Maine I can certainly do.

They are all good until they break. I have owned my share of Polaris sleds then I bought an SRX700 back in 2000 and it has been Team Blue since. I tell all the DOO diehards I ride with that in 5 years you will not have a choice but to buy a fourstroke. Did anyone read the write up in American Snowmobiler about there shootout? The 05 RX1 came in last but not by a whole lot. I belive it was only about 4 or 5 mph less than the 05 MachZ which took everyone. The Apex is definitely a contender for 06.

WOW what a response.

I was not saying the Mach Z and Appex are direct comparisons.
:ORC
BUT it is a 1000 cc 2 v 4 stroke direct comparison, and by all the "experts' the 4 stroke should be massively heavier, slower and handle poorly bcz you know those sleds are only for rental fleets and not performance enthusiasts.
:4STroke:

I just have heard so much of the wt crap that I want the other brand loyalists to see it is now a MUTE point. Kind of enough already - like Impala power said.
Having fun dreaming.

How about riding what you like even if it isn't a Yamaha and if you are concerned about the weight, lose some yourself.
LOL..I hear that. People will fudge about a few pounds here or there on their sled, yet at every bar or restaurant stop they load up on the beer, double cheeseburgers and chilli cheese fries.
The fact that Yamaha has made the Apex even remotely close to the Mach Z in terms of weight and power is quite an accomplishment. If you had told people 5 years ago that in '06 there would be a 4-stroke sled that would be able to run head to head with the best big bore 2-strokes, they would have laughed at you. They aint laughing anymore...

If 07 is what some dealers are calling another announcement year with still more new models, Yamaha might have over 20% next year!!!!!!!!!

They are turning on the heat!!!

Can they burn them all?!?!?!

If Doo & Cat has another motor problem year, which is very possible, they can do it!
