my guage pod showed flashing yellow light on far left, with flashing gas guage and little flashing gas tank symbols. Luckily we were close to home so we drove there. However, the flaashing stopped.
Performance appeared unaffected
Does anyone know what this could be?

Are you running low in fuel?

We had started the trip with 3/4 tank of gas. We used about 1/4 tank.
We had stopped for gas ( premium) to fill up about 5 miles before this flashing

You may have gotten bad gas then, I think when the gas light flashes that means the ECU is detecting some moderate "Pinging" and pulled some timing to protect the engine. Did you notice any loss in performance?

No loss in performance.
However,I heard rumors last year that the gas station had watery gas last year. I will siphon out te gas and put it into the Nuvik. Nuvik will run on anything.
Riding location... Between Witney and Bancroft, Ontario.
Main trails are groomed. Side trails not yet groomed.
With few other sledders to washboard it, the trails were excellent in most places.
We did 150 kms in the last 3 days.
It was just a 600 etec and me... I will post under First ride.

Check page 15/16 of your owners manual (at least that is the pages for mine) with regards to the gauge pod.
If you have the gas pump and the orange triangle flashing is a malfunction. Check the connection on the tank.

You might want to consider doing a diagnostic run and see if there's any hard latched codes.
If you have no codes you can probably write it off as shite fuel!
