I have a problem with the hand warmers on an 03 RX. I get a code 2. i have traced the wiring for the grips and there is no problem. Can anyone tell me which relay is responsible for the grips down by the right footwell? or am I way off.

If the grips are working, the Relay is working.
Have you measured the resistance across each grip heating element, the thumb warmer element and the switch?
Have you cleaned and checked the connection at the back of the Display module?

So what was the problem?
By the way, the three relays are, from the buzzer: Main, Lighing, Carb heater.

Problemm was a bad grip. Once you have the diagnostic info infront of you it becomes pretty easy. Someone on this site posted a link to the Yamaha repair manuals and it was extremely helpful in both information and saving time

Was teh resistance on teh grip wrong? Mie are correct but I still don't think they are that warm, and supposedly the 03's are like holding on to a hot potato. I frostbite my hands a few years ago and they are extra sensitive now though.

The resistance in the right grip is open. I put 06 bars on my 03 wired them correct and they would get pretty warm. My 03 bars would literally get very hot even through thick gloves. These that im testing are on my wifes and she cant have cold hands

I hate the heaters on my 05 RX1. If you stop on a cold day on the trail for any amount of time, it seems to take for ever before hands start feeling any heat coming out of them.
Ended up having to buy Ski-Doo hand covers because they looked way better and higher quality than the once I could have bought from Yamaha dealer. Oh well. If I ever switch brands I'll already have the hand covers.
I liked the heaters on my 1997 700 VMax SX way better.
