Has anyone here run into issues from flashing?

With the switch do you need your iPhone with you or just push button, kinda like the old switch? Start sled go and just button use?
No iPhone needed once you are setup. You do need flasher connected, since the flasher holds the maps. Since i got mine setup initially, I never had to pull out my iPhone at all. Which is what i mentioned on our last trip, as it was super cold and not really wanting to have to use iPhone for map changes.

You still need iPhone initially to set things up(or iPad ect) and I moved my default map down to 240 once I installed the switch, since I can now quickly up the HP with left thumb. No waiting either, i think it takes affect in 3 seconds once you choose your map, which you can scroll through on factory gauge(in the hour meter section).

I set my hour meter to show Boost psi via the APP. Then it will automatically change from boost PSI to map selection(240,270,290 for hurricane suite) when you make a change using the left thumb 'momentary' switch. You simply scroll to the map you want, and it will timeout after approx 3 seconds and that map is then in play. Also i noticed when you first start the sled, the current map shows as well on gauge, which would be your default map chosen in your APP.

If I recall correctly, the hour meter is still viewable(even in PSI boost mode) when you turn on the key without starting engine, so you can still view hour-meter.

Looks like something else for me to purchase for next season.
Yes that's a real problem with reading this site............it leads directly to PURCHASES.

Nice thing about the switch IMO.....It will likely be cheaper then just about anything else we put into these sleds for power.......And with the belt life, having a switch helps for me. I always used to run 270 or higher, but now that I can swap up so fast on the fly, I will tend to run the 240 map more often.

Dan, I'm looking forward to getting and installing it! At first I thought "that's pretty cool, but why would I ever bother switching tunes in the middle of a ride?" But I now agree with your points.

The GAP Flasher needs to be connected on the sled but the mobile device (phone, tablet) is not mandatory. The tune switch will be displayed on the cluster.
Will this switch work as a scramble button I drag race on tar and usually run max spool 17 but if I spin off the line may need max spool 20 to make up for it can you switch it at full throttle going down the track?

Looks like everyone has gone into "summer mode". LOL! I was wondering the same, basically when can the handlebar push button be used. Key on with engine off, engine idling, engine under power while riding?

I was also thinking why do I need that button but I have an F150 with a tune switching button and I use it constantly everyday switching from ECO to Sport when I need to pass merge or am in a hurry.
My tires don't seem to like the sport mode...Kinda like our belts with the big powa tunes...lol

Just like the belt on my Winder - I don't give a #*$&@ about those tires, when I need 'em I'll buy. Just haven't had to yet. ALSO just like my Winder - OEM belt still running.

Can anyone tell me when the handlebar push button can be used? Key on with engine off? Engine idling? Engine under power while riding?

I put the TD Powertrail tune on my '17 LTX DX before ever riding it stock. Later in the season I tuned up to Max Spool 17. Zero issues with either tune. My dealer that I have bought a dozen new Yamaha's from over the years knows that I tuned it up. He said that he would help me out with an engine warranty issue if needed during my YES but he is so confident in this engine and with TD tunes that he doubts that we will ever need to have that discussion.

Art, I know the feeling of having to look at your sled all summer. I have four on display in my garage but I made sure to put the Sidewinder on the end for the best view! I took the summer toys down from the storage loft and now it is time to enjoy those for awhile before the water freezes again in a few months. LOL! Winter will be here before you know it!
I have to ask, how did you get those sleds up there? LOL

We are obviously way off topic here but I guess we are all bored in the offseason. LOL! I have an aluminum platform that connects to an electric hoist in the ceiling that acts like an elevator to put the sleds & summer toys up and down. Saves a lot of floor space!

Your garage is much more organized than mine! After showing the wife the pics, she said you need to clean yours! LOL Great on how you do it
Thanks!

Ha! I was thinking the same thing! I normally have everything put away with zero clutter and scrub the floor and countertop so you could eat off of them as you can see in my avatar. When I snapped those pictures I was in the middle of a few projects and the garage was a complete mess.

We best get this thread back on topic but I may start a thread on man caves in the appropriate forum as it would be interesting to see what other TY members have done with their garages. In the mean time feel free to PM me if you want some more pictures of the sled lift and storage loft functionality.
