I just installed 96 1.075" studs in my stock track on my 07 Phazer. The local dealer service tech said they use a slide cut I half for tunnel protection mounted near the back of the tunnel. I did that too, but I am a bit worried about the heat exchangers in front. One dealer says no problem, the other one says they've seen heat exchanger damage with loose tracks. Do I need to put something up in front?

I run a 1.75 inch track with 2 inch studs on a 8 tooth driver and super slack track (2.5 inch gap between track and rail when lifted) and I have never touched the front heat exchanger.
I have ripped the aluminium plate right before the bumper, but have since installed protecters back there. (10 inch pieces of slides)

Thanks 3wheelerdude! The dealer that told me I needed the $120.00 tunnel protector kit is known to be a less than honest dealer. I should have known I could trust the service tech I talked to first. I only went to the bad dealer because its much closer and I needed some rivets right away. Of course they tried to rip me off as usual! Thanks again.

I used old sliders.
I used stud boy(aluminum)once but during racing the tunnel would bend alot and eventually broke off. The other side got caught by the stud end eventually got ripped off and jammed in the track.
Then I switched to using old sliders (witch a dealer can me out of the trash).
Put them on and no problems after that and if they was to brake off they wont damage the track or the skid.
