I have to ask why you guys dont want to use the stock acc outlet for electric shields. Does it not put out enough juice for the shields your using or because its used for other acc attachments on your sleds. Curious because i have a cat helmet with their shield and i hard wired it for a yamaha plug that fits the stock acc recepter. It seems to work fine but wondering if it could have more juice to it doing it your way. Thanks
Bought one at royal for like $10 bucks very good snug fit and works real well ! Also has green light to let you know that it works.
My friend bought the yamaha plug in one its always loose.

We dont' buy the yamaha plug because it's a ripoff, takes up the outlet that can be used for other things, can possibly fall out, and also becuase it may blow a fuse if you put too much draw from that one source.

If you're going to be in your sled doing maintenance/repair anyways, why not take the 5 minutes it takes to run the wiring? I found mine for $20 and another poster found his for $10....how much is the crappy yamaha plug in unit from a stealership?

I liked my firecat. There was a plugin ahead of the firewall that was pretty convenient to get at. I'd say that wiring mine directly to the battery on this sled couldn't have been much easier, though.
