Was out for the first ride of the season and had an unfortunate enconter with some concrete someone had dumped off in the ditch
. So luckily my skid plate took most of the hit, but it caught the bottom edge of my heat exchanger and the bottom of the engine cover plate, that has the black access panel!
Can anyone tell me if the bottom of the engine cover plate can be purchased separatly from the engine cradle assembly?
I have read some threads about changing out the front Heat exchanger but if anyone has some knowledge on changing out the front heat exchanger it would be greatly appericated!

I caught a tree stump a couple of years ago that was just below the snow line.I caught the bottom panel and the heat exchanger. I was lucky that my insurance covered having it fixed. My dealer put in a new heat exchanger and while the exchanger was out, they hammered the bottom skid frame piece back as best as they could. If you want to change it, I'm not sure if you can get just that piece or not? I would think you could. Go online to the yamaha parts site and see if they list the part you need. Good Luck

Agman 57 thanks for the reply! You are lucky you had insurance as i do not and have too fix my self! Luckily my heat exchanger is not leaking and will most likely make the winter, and i will tackle it in the off season. I did have too cut off the square tubing braces too make some clearance as the track was rubbing on them at high speeds! Now too find the bottom skid frame piece, i have looked at yamahas fishe diagrams and it does appear to be all one piece! Any part sleds out there?

I had the same problem on my 05 RX1. It got pushed into the track. I rode it for 600 miles that trip before i noticed it. As I remember Yamaha does not sell that piece, you had to buy the whole bulkhead. So I traded it in on an APEX. Well I told my wife I had to do that.
