Hey all,
I am replacing a my driveshaft with one from Ulmer w/ the extros installed. Since my sled has over 10K on the clock, I figured I would replace the driveshaft and jackshaft bearings while I had it torn down. I ended up having to remove the two riviets on the speedo side of the driveshaft as those two little set screws on teh driveshaft were completely seized on. The problem is that my sled is 30 mins from where we are living (had a house fire, and staying at a rental, with the sled at my buddies garage) and I cannot easily go out there to look to see exactly how the parts fiche matches up with what I need. I am hoping some of you who have been here before can help me shed some light on what I need!
Here is the pic of 'TRACK DRIVE 1' and 'TRACK DRIVE 2':
DRIVE 1: This seems backwards to me, as the bearing with the two set screws was on the speedo side? Am I missing something here, or is part #6 indeed the part I want to order to replace the driveshaft bearing on the speedo side? Where the heck is the clutch side jackshaft bearing found?
DRIVE 2: It looks like #2 and #22 are the two bearings for the jackshaft. Is #3 the only one for the driveshaft?

# 6 is the speedo/left side bearing for the driveshaft. I recommend getting 2 of #7, because it does not come with new bearing
Oh ya, pull up picture of secondary sheave....you will see picture of clutch, jackshaft, and everthing, including bearing, inbetween

If you do not want to pay Yamaha prices you can get these bearings at a bearing house like I just did. I paid about 50% of the Yamaha prices
If you buy from a bearing house just make sure that you get the good Japanese bearings and not the cheap Chinese ones.
#22 is a 6205 with both side seals removed.
#2 is a 6206 with both side seals removed.
#3 is a 6205 with just the inner side seal removed.
The jackshaft bearing behind the secondary clutch is not a standard 6206. It is special in that the inside diameter is tapered. This is so that it mates properly with the taperlock bushing that secures this bearing to the jackshaft. I could not find this special bearing anywhere but from Yamaha. Equally important is the orientation of this bearing when you install it. The larger ID needs to be facing outwards so that it matches the profile of the taperlock bushing OD.

The jackshaft bearing and circlip behind the secondary is shown in the "frame 2" part of the parts manual. It is a 6206 that uses some sort of a tapered locking bushing between the jackshaft and the inner race of the bearing. This is the one that I am still trying to remove on my sled. (See pics in the thread "dear jackshaft bearing".)

The jackshaft bearing behind the secondary clutch is a 6206 with both side seals installed. This is the one that I need help with regarding how to remove. (Please see the other thread "dear jackshaft bearing".)
Great Info! Thanks man! So, to make sure I understand it correctly:
Clutch Side:
-Driveshaft= #6 and two #7's (yamaha only due to shape?)
-Jackshaft= ?? (6206)
Chaincase Side:
-Driveshaft=#3 (6205)
-jackshaft= #2 and #22 (6206) and (6205)
Ham Lake? I am staying in a rental house over off Lexington near Broadway! We must be close to each other! I also have no idea how to get that jackshaft bearing out on teh clutch side! I figured some heat and a slide hammer or something. I have no idea!

I had already bought the driveshaft speedo side bearing (#6) from Waldoch Sports so I did not try to source it from my bearing house.
I get these bearings at wholesale pricing using my company's account at Cutter Sales in Brooklyn Park. I can get the 6205 bearings for $6.10 each and the 6206 bearings for $15.88 each. I will be happy to get them for you at my cost.
I am just down the road from you at Lexington and 136th. We should work together on this project.

That would be great! The jack shaft bearing is still in my sled, even tho the jackshaft is out. Sorry, I had to run to get the youngest from daycare and didnt see your message until now.
