High boost

Took my mcx turbo apex 310 out for the first ride today
Runs real strong ,but is it normal to see your boost gauge reach 25 lbs ?
Turn down the turbo smart ,got her around 12 lbs after

I hope that you were running straight race fuel in it when it hit that high of boost. All it takes is 3-4 seconds to start the detonation meltdown problems when you don't have enough octane.

I tought the most the 310 kit could produce was 17 lbs ??

Is your motor stock or modified?

Motor has a shim and timing cam changed

All it takes is a iced or pinched pressure line between the compressor housing and the wastegate actuator bell. No pressure to the bell and Your turbo will make maxximum boost which is around 25 lbs.

To make sure you did not suffer ring damage; a compression test is called for.
