Arent you the one who was only able to put 200 miles on his sled last year? My group will hit 200 miles by 2PM on the first day of a trip.
I agree....the harder you ride, the warmer you get. It would be nice if the hand warmers were at least in the ball park of what they should be.

How are you going to criticize me then agree with me all in the same post? Do one or the other please,Thanks.
I found the FX NytroRTX to be the coldest sled I have ever ridden! I will always have frost bite scares on my stomach and neck. Granted the coldest we saw was about -50F and the warmest we saw was about -25F We traveled 360 miles of remote trail and river running. Yes I had very good gear but because even the tall windshield is much shorter than it should be and the way the wind wraps around the side panel and into the waist area of the driver is not good. Wind chill when running 85+ mph @ -50 F freezes flesh with-in minutes. IMHO the side panels need deflectors to keep the air from following around the panel and into the driver! Doo addressed this on their Revs, Yamaha need to do the same.
Now when you are NOT in extreme low temps the FX Nytro isn't much or any colder than say the rev and all it takes is good gear. Which EVERYONE should own.... Surviving even one night outside in the extreme cold because of a broken down sled WILL make a beliver out of you! PLease take my word on that!

i dont get what all you guys are complaining about if you look at the sled it looks cold you just have to ride it like it wants to be ridden. if you didn't want to be cold then buy an apex or vector with more wind protection plain and simple. the coldest i rode in was about -20F and the only thing that got cold on me was my hands, and thats because i had the little gloves on and forgot to bring my bigger ones with. the next day it was about the same temp, put on my bigger gloves and i was fine. i ride with and open face helmet. i think it is just fine with the stock 09 rtx windscreen.

If I could survive on my Rev with NO Windshield, I'm sure I'll be on on my XTX!

I was really hoping they were gonna fix the handwarmer problems for this year but they didnt. If I fire up my old SXR I wouldnt even be able to touch the handwarmers there so damn hot. My 9 year newer sled are only warm to the touch. WHY!!!!

Cold, Yes. With good gear it is fine. Just keep your shield closed on your helmet or your nose will fall off by the end of the day. My hand warmers work just fine. That said, once I got the suspension dialed in, this is the most amazing sled I have ever owned!!! Wig

Are you sure they didn't fix the warmers?

Stock the sled is cold. Handwarmers work great with the gauntlets. On there own there not much to brag about. Sometimes they seemed O.K. other times I couldn't tell if they were on. For wind protection I switch shields depending on temps. Its only a 5 minute job or less to switch them out. side shields are a good investment too.

Stock wind shield sucks. but buy a tall wind shield and the side shields for it and you will stay warm. As for the handwarmer's mine work great.

But the Rev has handwarmers that get actually get warm, Yamaha has yet to figure this out.

How effective is the med windshield? Trying decide between the med or tall windshield. Is the med shield tall enough to push the wind over your helmet?
First thing to get cold on me, is my face ( ride with a MX style helmet) and hands. Usually the coldest temps I ride in is about 0 to 10F.
