Just had my hood and some suspension parts painted a flat black....Without clearcoat, I know the hood is especially prone to scratches, chips and scuffs.

With regards to trailering on a un-covered trailer, anyone have any suggestions on keeping the friction to a minimum, between the cover and paint? I have the Yamaha under-cover and am thinking about adding an old (clean) cotton sheet on for good measure. Any experiences and/or suggestions welcome! :rocks:

I have my sled painted, and I get marks on the paint after trailering for a few hours. I usually don't cover me sled unless the roads are bad. I have the "underwear" for the cover also, but its down low on the sides where it flaps in the wind that it damages the paint. If anything, take some of the cloth bungees, and add a few around your sled to keep the cover from flapping in the wind. I have found that if I cut the hooks off of 2 cords, ties them together to make one really long one, I hook it to the chassis somewhere at the front of the track, and loop it up around the base of the healight and back to the other side.
It an look kind fo goofy, but those of us who have custom paint have to be carefull. Trailering my sled while covered has done more damage to my sled that ditchbanging through tall weeds!
