I went from a new RX-1 (Too tippy ) , to a new Apex GT 2006 (loved it till it was totaled ly ), to a 2015 Apex XTX (Star kit ,+,+,+) which is twice the sled the GT was ! I made almost all of the upgrades recommended by many TY Apex owners , most before I even rode the sled .
Anyone who has a pre 11 Apex , or a 11 + short track , should up grade to a 11 + long track 144 tipped rail version , with power steering !
Because you know the Apex needs a long track to balance the sled ,AND harness the power of the #1 reason you love your Apex , THE ENGINE !!!!!!!!!
Don't worry about selling off your old sled , as anyone who is itching to try a the Apex , because of the engine , will get on board with your old sled , so they can get a feel , and decide what the next step is , of which we current 11 + power steering ,long track owners already know 1st hand !
The handlebar riser , the seat raise or WRP , the Star kit , or spring and shock rework , or both , ST or triples , and a little tweaking , is what the Apex really needs to be as good as it can be .
A sled most of us will NEVER let go !
UNTIL the NEW APEX ARRIVES !
And then the cycle repeats . We sell our old Apex 2011+ XTX , to those who bought the older version , or the short track version , who are now HOOKED /ADDICTED to the engine ! , and then ................
