how much oil?

i'm going to change the motor oil and filter. also going to try and change the chaincase lube. i just don't know how much ounces to pour in the chaincase

what sled? chaincase takes 4 oz on most yamaha sleds

Nytros and apex's take around 8oz with reverse.

Service manual has the chain case capacity at 6.72 us oz. My first oil change before I bought the manual I used 8 us oz as in my yamahas of the past and overfilled the chain case. It's easier to add oil if you don't put in enough the first time than to drain some off when you over fill like I did.

I don't think there's an easy way to check them and there wasn't any obvious sign they were bad. You'll have to take off the gas tank to get down to the box containing the flex joints and donuts. It's a pain.
