Got my Flasher plugged in to the wall outlet with cord to it. And I’m trying to connect with my phone..but it keeps saying searching for VIN, and red light flashing on tool. I named my tool, and phone has it, but it won’t connect to my phone.
Do u need to do this with the tool/flasher plugged in to the sled. I don’t have a desk top
Computer at home, so I’m trying to just plug it into the wall and connect with phone?? Maybe you can’t do that??

DO NOT PLUG IT INTO THE WALL!!
You need a computer to update the flasher. If you don't have you'll need a friend with a PC.

Flasher has no source of power unless plugged in. You can connect your phone to it via BT when it is plugged into your computer or when it is powered by the sled assuming you GAP app on mobile device.
You should get the Flasher Updater software on your PC and GAP Flasher on your mobile device.
Connect flasher to PC via USB.
Update flasher to latest build using GAP flasher Updater software.
Disconnect flasher from PC
Connect to sled and connect phone via BT to flasher using GAP app on mobile device.
Scan ECU using GAP mobile app on device
Send ECU scan info to Hurricane so they can load the tunes you purchased on the server.
Remove flasher from sled.
After Hurricane has loaded your tunes on the server.
Run Flasher update on PC and connect flasher again via USB to PC.
Update firmware IF a new update is available.
Otherwise load tunes in flasher by using GAP flasher Updater on PC
Disconnect flasher from PC.
Connect flasher to sled and turn key on but not start sled.
Search for flasher (TOOL)
Flash ECU with your tunes.

I have multiple Macs running XP because I use an old piece of software for my work. I tried to make the flasher software work but it didn’t so I use my daughters laptop. I make her think I’m checking up on her at the same time.Im all Mac now, and found out you cannot update flasher on a mac. Lucky I have a little netbook still with XP..lol

Ok my sled is already tuned/tunes installed...two weeks ago, so I don’t want to update anything at this time. Just trying to do the whole Bluetooth thing with the flasher now/connect phone to flasher. I have the GAP FLASHER app installed on my phone.
My desktop at work is an apple/Mac, so can I set up the Bluetooth using that computer? Not gonna update anything...just want to set up the account so I can control from phone if I want.
I realized the flasher has no power..so that’s why I plugged it into the wall..and tried to connect phone that way. But it couldn’t find the VIN it said??
Hope I didn’t damage the flasher by doing that??

Cannot use a Mac unless it can boot Windows and Windows has access to the USB bus (mine does not). I could fix probably but easier to use my daughters laptop.

Ok, so I’m best served hooking/plugging the flasher back into the sled(no access to PC), and connecting to Bluetooth that way then...right? It should be able to find my VIN with it hooked up to the sled I would imagine, right??
Do I need to turn the key on to do this?? Or is just plugging it in with key off enough??
And did I do any damage to the flasher by plugging it into the wall?? I wouldn’t think so, but who knows??
