I bought the hurricane race bundle which came with the weights and trail muffler for these high hp maps. I was installing the new muffler and noticed the inside flange bolt hole to be too close to the exhaust connecting to it( this would be the 90 degree bend before the flex portion of the pipe directly above the inlet of the muffler) I know on the stock flange there are two bolts on the inside of the bend that cant be loosened with a torx socket but rather a torx drive bit that sits inside a box end wrench. The problem I have is I cant even get a bolt in this hole due to the 90 degree being a half inch away from the flange. What were others doing to remedy this problem? I'm guessing a stud and nut. also I need to change the heat shield on the new muffler with the stock one so the cert #'s will be visible for if they do an inspection for aftermarket exhaust. Where would I get the rivits that hold these shields on? thanks for any help

I don't have that muffler but it sounds like an issue with space.Try installing that stubborn bolt first, but I'd imagine it would have to be changed to a hex head bolt instead of the torx head. Rivets can be found at your dealer to match the stock ones, or just use whatever is at your local hardware store.

We are using a stud and but now . Call us for it if you like. It’s now been included with every muffler

ok... Bringing this back to the top. I am having a hard time with the fitment of this muffler. one of the three of the tabs don't align with the grommets. Its the one of the top right side. I even bent the tab and it helped a little. Is anyone else the seeing the same here. Obviously its a tight fit, but should it be that tight?

I got one yesterday and went to install it tonight and ya it doesnt line up to anything very good. Gonna have to make some major adjustments because I refuse to spend anymore than a few minutes installing a muffler. Might even cut the left bracket right off, my td sq only uses bottom left and top right grommets and that dont go anywhere. Precision uses all the grommets but that muffler fits identical to stock so really quick to remove and installok... Bringing this back to the top. So, I sent mine back and Hurricane already sent me a new one. Should be here today. They test fitted the new one before they sent it. I spent like 5 hrs trying to get the other one on. I was just pissed.. Hopefully the new one works out. Who ever created his jigs needs new glasses.

Okay then, my dealer just ordered a few to have on stock and thats where I got it. I might just return it on monday. Sounds like he may have got a batch of some that were off a bit. Thanks for the info

I would return it. The Top right bracket would not come even close to matching up with the grommet. I would say it was off by a good 1/4". It should have been a 20min job!!

Mine didnt line up either, took me about an hour to fit it. I had to oval out and lower the mount closet to chaincase. At first my outlet was level to the body panel and my flange only lined up with one bolt. After moving that mount it all lined up very well. I used a bolt with a smaller head I had laying around for that one area in behind the pipe. Mines has a factory cat cover on it, sounds great and looks completely factory..

Yes, besides the fitment issue, its a real nice looking exhaust. Its sounds really good to (not loud at all) and looks completely stock.
