Hurricane turbo intake upgrade

Where have they said “sidewinder killer “ ?
The word "killer" was improvized. But trust the verbiage that was used to be very similar. One of the test mules pulled 130mph on a lake. Unfortunately, as a supplier they all have to move on to the next greatest thing.
If I was a supplier I'd push the envelope and compare a 998t to an comp850 or Boost. Cuz in my head the only thing I'd see is $$$$

Now that’s being creative with killer

998T development is all but over by all the major tuners and they did an amazing job and made enough money off the platform to pad their wallets substantially, hats off to them.

The 85O comp at 240 hp is quite a ride and the next venture for some.

Dont under estimate them and dont bet the farm on a short distance pump gas race you may get embarrassed

Lol...im with ya. The Boosts were running 115mph in 500', completely modded out, race fuel & chisels of course. Total respect to both Comp850s & Boosts.
The game has changed, no doubt.

Looks like hurricane is moving on this. Looks like they added another clearance dimple for the coolant hose where mine was melted

On the lake last weekend there was a guy with a tuned Boost that pulled 137 GPS. A guy with a tuned 850 comp ran 140 mph GPS. He ran the tar outta that Doo with many pulls over a mile. I was quite impressed with the speed, but even more impressed it held together. A tuned 998 has to be on point to stay ahead of a that tuned 850.

Was the Doo running Hurricane tune?

I guess the question for me about these tuned turbo two-strokes is will they stand up on pump gas running high speed wot on all-day rides over many seasons without any engine issues?

The one running 140 mph was not pump gas, I could smell the race fuel.

At that level a turbo Apex would suck it up the tail pipe @ 170mph with a Sidewinder right behind it

The Doo 850 Comps with pipes and tunes have not been a threat to my 998 at all. Have friends that have a couple of them, and they are drag racer friends that don't like to be beat, one pulled up alongside of me and I think he thought he could run with me, he found out rather rapidly he wasn't close. I could pull away from him at anytime on the trail, even if I let him have the hit I could pull away at a rapid rate, he's going to need a whole bunch more power to get close. They do run good for what they are (240 HP), but as a trail sled they will not outrun a decent 998 with a 270 tune or more. I don't see a way for them to make over 240 HP on pump fuel, but they are lighter weight for sure. Anything over 240 for them it seems they need a bunch more octane than what pump fuel will give. Another thing is they seem to throw engine codes very easily and are not very consistent thru the day. Would I want one? Not a chance I'd give the winder up for one.
