It was worth 1.5-2 hp at the track, with no other changes, we simply took the hood off, used a tube I already had cut and ready to go here and simply swapped it in.

The install looks a little involved without removing the throttle body intake assembly. How did you deal with removing/attaching the blow off tube in that tight space?

@Turboflash removed the air intake from the clutch cover while I removed the blow off valve and removed the clamp from the turbo. Removed the two 10mm nuts holding the steering stem to the bushing and pushed the steering stem forward. I did not remove any intake tubes or plenum pieces, was probably a 10 minute job total, but I've also done about 5 of them so far.

Blow off valve & hose I completely removed, you can pull it out a little way with the inner hose still attached to the plenum, but it has to come off to get it through the frame spar.

If you have EPS it's a harder install as the steering post has to be removed from the EPS.

Thanks for the info ! I don't have EPS but I do have an aux rad up front that also complicates the installation on my sled.

You should be able to reach in and reach everything yet without removing the plenum on the intake, it's a little cumbersome, but can be done.

The trick with the steering column is, after you remove the two 10mm nuts, push the column forward out of the pocket and rest it on the right hand stud. This will allow the necessary room to remove the tube.

Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the honest numbers. Much appreciated.
Are the results the same if using CAI, GAP intake, or stock air box?
I know.....a lot of questions, please forgive me, ......I'll go pound sand now. Lol

I pulled the plenum out not that much extra work and it makes it easier to install

That's a question I can't answer. All the sleds I have run have had the PEFI billet intake.

I like your conservative numbers Allen! Keeps people interested. It was worth 1.5-2 hp at the track, with no other changes, we simply took the hood off, used a tube I already had cut and ready to go here and simply swapped it in.

Let's just say it's enough that you for sure would want to install one.I hate to be that guy, and hate to pry.......but have to ask:
As TF runs a monstrous tune, are the track hp gains larger than previously discussed??
Seemed to be better gains on Stage 4 pump gas than ProMod level. Responded noticeably.
Allen is going to try one on a stock 998 very soon to see if stock sled responds same or is it more effective on tuned sleds. But he has to wait until he gets more because we cleaned out his inventory when we left this afternoon. Lol. Sorry Allen.
