Looking for input on two things:
1) Front springs: I'm going to be sending my front shocks (09 XTX, stock GYTR clickers) in to Hygear for a rebuild & revalve. Considering swapping the stock springs for either their double or triple rate springs. Pricing on either set is close enough to not worry about the difference. I'm just looking for overall improvement on bump capabilities, and if there's improvement on steering effort and ski lift, as I've read there probably will be, that's a bonus I guess. I emailed Hygear a few times, but didn't really get much action on my questions, so... what's the difference between the DR and TR springs? Do both have the effect of lowering the front end significantly? I'm a bit reluctant to lower it too much & give up suspension travel in the front. Those of you who have either, what are your observations on how it affected your Nytro?
2) Center spring: I did the Star Suspension kit last season - it was a huge improvement to my skid, really love it. As part of that mod, I changed the stock center spring to a BRP spring (heavier) that Robert at Star suggested. Had them rebuild/revalve both rear shocks last season as well. So, wondering if Hygear's double rate center spring would be worth using instead of the BRP heavy spring. The one area that I would like to still improve on the skid is small bumps/trail chatter... it takes everything else really well, but the chatter (even with everything pretty soft (torsion & rear clicker)) is a bit annoying at times. Anyone happen to use the DR center with the Star kit?
Thanks for any info you folks might have to offer!

Just give them your info they will provide the springs and valving best for you. Be honest with info and they will nail it. Did mine last year and it rides like a dream now

I installed the dual rate spring with the crossover adjustment after doing the 128" relocate. With that setup the sled was performing the best it ever had until the center shock blew apart and damaged the track. I should have had Hygear update the shock with the high flow transfer hose and stronger shock body. I now run a 136" track with a 4" rail extension and a Ohlins center shock. The 136" relocate is great in deeper snow and handles bumps well but doesn't handle as well as it did as a 128". I'm now consider installing a dual rate spring on the Ohlins because I was impressed on how well it worked on the stock center shock.

You will probably be better off calling and talking to Ross instead of email. He is a great guy and will answer your questions. Like others said be honest about your riding style and weight to get the best shock setups.

Talked to Ross @ Hygear today. The gist of the conversation is that the DRS and TRS offer the same performance, with the TRS being capable of ride height adjustment with the addition of a third, smaller & light duty spring that is used to take any free play out of the front springs when they are adjusted to the point where preload is normally non-existent. So, I'll be doing the TRS on the front shocks. He suggested a few things regarding the skid, like the addition of hi/low adjusters for the rear shock & a new version of torsion springs that are available. I've decided to get the front taken care of for this season and see how the skid works in conjunction with all the mods that I am doing for this season.
