Going to install my torsion spacers on my 09 XTX before the weekend (shoul be good for 1 more ride) and I'm wondering what way the cut out should point (North, South, East or West) when I install. I can't tell from the instruction pics and want to get it right the first time... Thanks!!

Torsion spring spacers add preload to the rear torsion spring system increasing its preload and effective rate during compression. This spacer will help to set your vehicle’s ride height properly and increase the efficiency of torsion spring systems. (From the website)
I'm hoping by increasing the efficiency of the springs I can run a softer setting to smooth things out in the stutter bumps...

in laymans terms it helps the torsion spring set on the cross shaft straighter, operating the way it was intended without an air gap or twisting in the spring to cross shaft contact areas. this makes the spring operate more efficiantly by holding its travel path around the cross shaft.
member on dootalk has had these for years, and i have used them on several sleds. they generally add about two clicks of adjustment to the standard torsion spring adjuster. if you are normally on say #3 you can realx it to #1 (softer) position and get the same or better ride. ski

a few. why? very easy. raise back of sled off ground, flip spring retainers forward, release spring pressure (be careful) by removing spring from holder on rail.
un bolt the rear skid bolts, drop rear skid down, remove spacer (has set screw), remove upper outer idler, pull thin sleeve from upper cross shaft under spring, replace with torsion spacer, reinstall idler, and spacer, reassemble rear skid the same way you took it apart.
takes about 30 minutes for the while deal. ski

Did everything you said but I'm off about 1.5 mm when I put the spacer with the set screw back on...I have the cut out on the torson spacer pointing down, is this the correct way?Or should I use a big socket so I can tap them in to get them to seat? I think I may have the cut out in the wrong place.

They go on after the new spacers. Between the spacer and the wheel.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the directions and help on the spacers.
It was an easy project and got mine put in this weekend. And noticed the difference right away. So again, THANKS to everyone. And this
One more thing

They can't go on the inside because of part 62, which is what the spacers replace.
