Importing Yamaha sled from US to Canada...any duty?

Thanks for all the info. My main question is the duty though. Being the sled is a Yamaha and made in Japan, I seem to be getting a few that say they had to pay duty and a few who said they didn't. I brought a Doo over last year and did the 72 hr check and everything went fine. I was told no duty as it was made in North America. I don't want to get to the border and have a surprise duty fee.

No duty.

Did you get the recall letter on the sled you are purchasing? I just talked to a bud of mine last night and he said if the sled is "used" and registered to someone, dealership or original buyer then the duty was included in the original price.
What did you buy?

no duty on snowmobiles, only motorcycles & ATV's.

in the last six months i have brought over 4 boats 2 atvs and 5 sleds 98 srx 02viper 00srx 98 sx 600 and 06 apex gt no duty on any of them crossed at hill island bridge and no 72 hour wait and two year ago 03 rx1 crossed at nort dakota that they wanted 72 hour wait but they have since changed that.but i will stress that you get documentation stating that the unit has no recalls or you will be running through hoops for weeks to get your riv safey form.good luck iwill buy more if the deals remain.buy adn sell baby.
