purchased a left over 14 viper xtx and love it except the gas gauge, anyone have issues with theirs or is there a fix, reads less than 1/2 at 50miles

Did you fill it and check? Vipers when new seem to use a lot of fuel or at least ours did.

I have 14 xtx and when it's at 1/2 I only take 3.5 gal. Seems to be normal. Never had my light come on that soon though. You should get better mileage with more miles. I have 3500 miles with turbo and got 16 mpg on first ride this year. Clutching makes a big difference on these machines. When stock I only got 12 mpg. After clutching I always got between 16 and 18 mpg.

what did you do to the clutching to get that increase in mileage?

For a stock machine. 8DN belt, 8fp weights with 3.2g rivet in tip, G-W-G primary spring with 2mm shim, 46/40 helix set at 6-1 with pink spring. You can read Clutching on the cheap on here for more info. This clutch setup rocks on a stock viper and gives you better mileage because you cruise at lower rpm's. PM me if you need more help.
