I just ordered the Hygear Torsion spring spacers for my 07 GT. Wondering how easy they are to install. Any tips or tricks?

Just a straight swap with the original plastic piece so that part is easy. Sometimes the drop arms are welded solid to the shaft from rust so after removing the pinch bolt, you have to spread it a bit by hammering a chisel or screwdriver in the slot to spread it a little.

Thanks Mooseman. I had the skid out at the beginning of last season for all new idlers so it should be OK. I hope. Should have installed them at that time but here we are.

I also add anti-seize to everything, just to be sure I can disassemble stuff later.

Is a quantity of "1" in the Hygear shopping cart one spacer or one set of spacers?

Really good bang for the buck on these. Did the wife's Phazer and my Nytro. Huge difference on the Phazer.

Still dont understand to this day why you all want less sag. Lower is better for handling as long as you have shocks that work.

Isn't it to allow the suspension more travel to absorb bigger bumps before bottoming out?

They actually prevent the springs from binding and they transfer the tension more evenly by keeping the coils flat.

According to Hygear's website: "Torsion spacers add pre-load to the rear torsion spring system increasing its pre-load and effective rate during compression. This spacer will help you set your sleds ride height properly and increase the efficiency of the torsion spring system." G.B.

What that means is it helps to take sag out. I like sag and alot of it. Ever see a offroad racing truck?

exactly, Being 200# i find my WEAK 1700nm MTX springs work quite well for aggressive trail riding, I have an almost perfect 40% "sit in" and let the shocks do all the work without having to compete with overly stiff springs. The only bad thing about the MTX springs is its hard to keep the front end planted unless I really tighten down the limiter strap.

Dealer put mine on today. $60 to install. They look great, I am hoping for a nice improvement with them on board. We will see...
