This is the first time my skid has been out, and am having some trouble putting it back in. I've read all the tech info but no go? I've got the fronts in no prob at all. control rod is off. The back two bolt holes are two inchs off. What am I doing wrong? Pretty sure I put the skid back together right. Just got it back from Welts. Nice work on the welds, and powder coat! Well Thanks for any info guys!! Honk

Make sure the track is loose too...and pull up on the skid so there is no gap (or very little) gap between the bolt hole and drop bracket. My RX gave me a bit of an issue last week but as I pulled the skid up closer to the drop bracket the 2" difference turned into about 1/16" (which you can deal with). Good luck!!

I've done this many times on the RX with not this type of prob. The fronts are in, and when I lower the sled to the skid the rear holes line up at the back holes of the bracket. They should be in the middle hole. I'll play with it in the Mornin. Thanks!

take limiter strap off... it will drop front and allow rear bolts to line up...

My experience.....After the front 2 are in, raise the rear of the sled up higher than it sits normally. Lift the skid up to the rear holes, should be close enough to deal with.

Very easy, just put a racheting strap around shock and adjust accordingly....done it many times and don'y have to disconnect anything.

X2, ratchet straps are the way to go.

No need for ratchet straps etc.... This really can be done in 5 - 10min with one guy if you do the following.
Undo limiter strap
Slide suspension into track
Raise the back of the sled (bumber about chest height)
Install the front bolts
Lower back end till it is about normal riding height
Push on the rear arm to align the holes (can be done with one hand if limiter strap is out)
Good luck....

I just did mine with my son. Limiter strap undone. Sled a little higher then ride height. Front went right up first then lowered sled alittle and middle lined up. Upper wheels were done with sled about ride height.
I couldn't do it last year myself. Don't have the strength now to get the front holes done.
I've learned one thing. Put the rear wheels into the track first then work the front of the skin into the track or the large back wheels catch lugs like crazy right?

Put skis up on dollys. undid front limit strap, Put skid into track, lift front of skid up to front holes , install bolts. lower sled and then lift skid with car jack, and push large wheels forward to the rear holes. Like smooth gravey! So Sweet! Nevers been that easy before. The new reinforced powdercoated suspension parts look great! Thanks Welt!
