Has anyone installed a Yamaha skid plate on a 2010 Vector? I have the plate and the mounting kit and was wondering if there are any pitfalls before I start drilling. Thanks.

when drilling out the rivets to install the nut serts be very aware that there is lines running on the back side of this. remove the oil filter access panel and feel around and locate these, and drill just deep enough to get the rivet out and the nut sert in. start at the back and work you're way forward the plates warp and they don't necessarily fit like you would think they should.

The four holes wouldn't line-up with the two front holes. So, I made the four holes along the bottom larger to make it work. Insidently, it is a must that you install this skid as things like rocks can catch the back end of the plate where you change the oil. Then the object pushes the radiator into the track/studs and you have a very serious problem on your hands.

the fit on these is #*$&@. open up all the holes at least 1 size and its better.

Thanks for the inputs. I installed it today and opened all 6 skid plate holes to 5/16". Plate went on without problems and fit well. This skid plate was previously used on my 2005 RS Rage which I traded for the 2010 Vector GT.
