Is 1.6" to much depth for trail

im using the stud boy pro series .75 tall snow cross backers with 1.625 studs - they're .375 over lug which is perfect for trail - they look great, like another snow scooping lug on the track and helps support it better for that soft fold over effect in hard conditions some comment about. the 141 has 47 rows so its different to stud - i like doubles on 2 ply but double plates for single ply tracks are way bigger causing a catapiller effect, especially over 90.
