i am going to buy an 03 rx-1 er and alot of people talk about overheating
on the rx-1. is this a common problem?

No not if your cooling system is bled properly

I had an 03 RX1 (shorty) put on 4600 miles never had it overheat even in very poor conditions...Now have a 04 (shorty) 1000 miles and it also has never overheated yet.. I think the ones that were complaining were the Warriors and the Mountains...

The only time my '03 overheated in 5500 miles was when I had to run plowed sidewalks to get around 1/4 to 1/2 mile across town, moving very slowly and stopping often to wait for traffic. (Yes, it was a posted trail). No other problems even on warm days on hard pack.

Its a rare occurance.. Only in very hard pack conditions where you keep a constant throttle setting...

Jim, what's up with that Avatar? Do you see that sight often? What do you say when you see that in your rear view mirror, OH S$$$!!

Where is the friggen snow? I have waited for this since last March, and now I have to wait another few weeks. This really sucks!!

my dads 04 rx1 over heated up in northern wisc, but the trails were glare ice, but the other three sleds didnt have a problem with overheating, actually the coolant wasnt even warm, but the rx1's was really hot
